DUE TO ARRIVE
The second in the Grand Prix series of Abarth 500 Assetto cars from NSR is due to arrive, this time in Ferrari livery to join the McLaren version already released. This is a nice little spasmodic run of cars from NSR, and should continue for some time because we saw several F1 Team livery cars at Nuremberg (only Red Bull spoiling the show with their usual demands for extortionate license fees).
NEW CARS ANNOUNCED
MSC have added a new version of the Subaru WRC car for immediate release. This is the 1997 Monte Carlo winner driven by Piero Liatti, and is a Limited Edition model. Dont't forget the new Porsche 959 cars from MSC which are due to arrive as red and black street car versions on the same delivery, see last weeks Newsletter for pictures.

TEAM SLOT CHASSIS WITH SLOT-IT. The Alpine A310 cars recently released byTEAM SLOT have a new chassis which accepts SLOT-IT parts for upgrades. We are reliably informed that an easy coversion to an anglewinder setup makes this car into a real flyer, and we have a picture to show you the revised chassis, this one fitted with an NSR motor. TEAM SLOT are delivering more of the Alpine A310 Gitanes car for those who missed out a couple of weeks ago, and releasing theAlpine A310 Calberson car we told you about last week. Both models have a full set of spotlamps and rally crew. The Lancia Stratos Alitalia re-issue also due soon will have a revised chassis for SLOT-IT conversions as well, making it even more desirable. Let us hope that other Stratos liveries will follow soon.
NSCC - HORNBY WEEKEND. We are off to this annual event for some racing, meeting Hornby staff, seeing some SCALEXTRIC prototypes, and probably some good eating and drinking as well. We are looking forward to meeting several customers in the process, as well as many other enthusiasts. Although this is work-related for us, it does mean we won't be in the MRE office on Friday, so we can't send out orders until Monday, sorry.
XMAS PRESENT BOOKS ? With only four weeks left to shop for Xmas many of you will be hoping that some promised cars will arrive in time. We expect late deliveries from the usual culprits (don't they understand that waiting almost a year and then mising this important deadline loses them sales and customers ?) but we want to remind you that everyone likes a book for Xmas and we have a few to offer. Pictured below is the epic story of FLY due to arrive in December, not the cheapest book but undoubtedly will be very high quaility and in full colour throughout. If you are racing with a digital setup and haven't yet got a copy of Dave Changs book covering everything you need to know (plus a lot more) about digital cars and tracks then this is a chance to add it to your shopping list.
SCALEXTRIC - TOO LATE FOR XMAS AGAIN ? Today we received a list from Hornby of all the items that will be held over until 2013. If you were hoping for any one of 11 Airfix Kits, or 9 Corgi Cars, or 5 Vanguards Cars, or a massive 46 Hornby Trains items, then you will be unlucky. Very surprisingly, there is not a single SCALEXTRICitem on the list, which suggests that everything will be available before the end of the year. Almost true - further investigation shows that some cars will not arrive in the UK until 24 December, and as Hornby are closed until Monday 7 January it looks as though we will be taking delivery of 2012 in the second week of January again. We will try and get a complete list of the late arrivals for you to make adjustments to orders if neccessary.
