INGLATERRA : NEWS OF THE WOLVERHAMPTON SLOT CAR CLUB

Today saw the second running of the WSCC DTM event, and the pace was noticeably quicker than last year, especially in the 'unmodified' class 2.

Wolves club members made full use of their home advantage to take five of the podium places across the two classes. Chris Aston won Class 2, with Richie Welch second and Gary Skipp’s third place earning him the only top-three spot for a visiting racer.

Class 1 for modified cars was won by event organiser Ian James, with Ashley Evans taking second place on borrowed wheels and Chris making it onto the podium for the second time in third position.

A special award was presented to the visiting racer who achieved the highest combined placing. Congratulations to James Noakes.

The event was highly enjoyable and the racing fast and close. Many thanks to all who came today, and special thanks to the organisers and the club members who assisted with the running of the event, scrutineering and bacon butties. Especially the bacon butties.
