SUDAFRICA : NOTICIAS DESDE EL CAMBRIDGE SLOT CAR CLUB, CAPE TOWN



Friday, 14th July, 2017.
Tonight we had 12 drivers racing 1/24 Formula One (F1) and 1/32 Touring Cars (T32).
Still on a high from his double victory in Production 24 in the SA National Championships, Wahlied Fortune was unstoppable, winning both F1 and T32, setting a new T32 12-minute record of 111.64-laps. 
André Roux finished 2nd in T32 with 108.44-laps and set a new lap record of 6.046 seconds, with Ken Irwin 3rd (105.45-laps).
B-Class was won by PJ D'Aguiar (88.55-laps), with Piet Beukes 2nd (88.43-laps) and Ted Van Der Meulen 3rd (79.71-laps).
Francois Roux took the win in C-Class with 86.16-laps, with Kevin Saunders 2nd (85.90-laps) and Ryan Swart 3rd (84.91-laps).
Wahlied took the F1 win with 119.58-laps, with André 2nd (116.44-laps) and Willie Taylor 3rd (114.89-laps).

With 16 drivers doing battle, including a special guest, multiple times SAMCA SA National Champion Gustav Heymann, the racing was fast and furious!

Fresh from his SAMCA SA Nationals Production 24 victories, Wahlied Fortune blitzed the field to take the win, setting both a new outright lap record (6.968 seconds) and a new 12-minute record (99.16-laps). Gustav took 2nd place with 97.80-laps, while Russell Sheldon finished a distant 3rd (94.65-laps).
B-Class was won by Andy Anderson (83.89-laps), with Kevin Saunders 2nd (76.42-laps) and Pieter Grobler 3rd (75.45-laps).
Visitor Alan Paterson, who last raced more than 5-years ago, put in an impressive performance to record the second fastest lap with a time of 7.032 seconds, despite having technical issues with his car and controller.
