Madrid, December 15th 2015.- SRC has reached an agreement with OSC (Original Slot Cars), another Spanish slot cars 1:32nd scale manufacturer. OSC is specialized in design, mechanics and competition. The partnership has been made with the goal of enhancing the performance on track of all new models.
This is another step forward that SRC takes to achieve the objective of the brand, which is to make the best reproductions of slot cars in the 1:32nd scale.
OSC has proven to be a leader in mechanical quality and performance of slot cars, as well as producing real beauties of motor racing to scale. A clear and well-known example is the Peugeot 205 T16. This model was used by Oriol Vidal a few weeks ago in the Spanish XX Slot Championship held at Igualada; Vidal won the Spanish Championship in the Rally 1:32 category.
With OSC´s technology, SRC aims to significantly improve the mechanics and performance of all new models. SRC is therefore commited to increasing investment in R&D and competition. In this sense, the brand will launch the “Chrono” range, which will be focused on slot racing cars with the technology and mechanics of OSC. The Company´s standard slot categories will also have significant mechanical improvements.
“The basic premise of SRC is to faithfully reproduce the history of motorsport in the 1:32nd scale slot cars. From an esthetic point of view, SRC cars are considered Premium,-the same as OSC´s Peugeot 205 T16-. On the other hand, it is true that our customers have been demanding for some time a mechanical improvement in our models, in order to improve their performance on track against other brand slot cars.
We could not do this better than by partnering with OSC , whose technology and high competition mechanics will now allow us to offer our customers a “perfect slot car” says Pedro Cieza, CEO of SRC.
“Two Spanish Companies join forces to create the perfect esthetic and mechanical slot car. We will create a real mini-racing car on track that will arouse interest and especially excite both motorsport and slot fans” adds Pedro Cieza.
SRC´s next projects will include both technology and mechanics of OSC, particularly the BMW 2.8 and BMW 3.0. These models will be released during the first half of 2016,and the Hesketh 308 is expected sometime in the middle of next year. Many other innovations will be presented by SRC during 2016. In addition to the mentinoned models, the expected Peugeot 205 T16 EVO1 Tour de Corse 1985 with “Gauloises” decoration will be introduced early in the year; the Peugeot will be manufactured through this new partnership. After more than two years, SRC will once again manufacture the Ford Capri RS. This time around the model will be the car that participated in the 24 Hours of Spa in 1972 and was driven by Jean-Claude Franck and Klaus Fritzinger. Another novelty will be the presentation of the Ferrari 312PB and the expected McLaren M23. Furthermore, throughout the year the Company will release a series of new models: the March 701, the Lola T70 Spyder, both T280 and T290, and the Cadillac 1950 Series 62 among many other surprises (let´s not forget the Lancia Delta S4 that OSC had in mind). All of these models will have OSC technology and mechanics.
Marco Antonio Camino and Jesus Cobo, founders of OSC will join SRC as responsibles of R&D and Competition Departments, respectively.
SRC will continue to be a product that is 100% “Made in Spain” and “Made in Europe”, with headquarters in Castalla, Alicante. All models will remain numbered and limited (1,020 units per reference, except lower roll editions). The “Chrono” line models will not be numbered since they are not representations of real life racing models.
