This week we have had deliveries from SCALEXTRIC and CARRERA and LE MANS MINIATURES. Just a single car arrived from SCALEXTRIC. A black VW Beetle as raced at Goodwood by Drew Pritchard. The Beetle is an iconic car, much like the Mini, and is always popular on slot rallies. S-C4147 VW Beetle # 13 Goodwood CARRERA sent us the 1/24 Digital Zakspeed Capri in Mampe Livery. This is the Capri recognised by most people for the eye-catching colours, and it stands out just as well on a slot track. You can run it in digital or analogue mode. CAR-23895 1/24 Digital Zakspeed Capri Mampe The other new CARRERA car is almost as big as the Capri, because it is the 1/32 Dodge Charger Daytona with extended bodywork and the famous wing. The colours are a bit eye-popping but at least you won't lose it on the track. CAR-27638 Dodge Charger Daytona # 42 LE MANS MINIATURES sent us the new Bentley EXP models. These are the EVO re-engineered versions of the Le Mans team cars, but still have all the fine detail expected from LMM. The EVO designation refers to the chassis and technical parts, so you now get better performance with the good looks. Beautifully detailed and hand painted, the latest addition to the drivers series is Jochen Rindt sitting comfortably in his Gold Leaf Lotus overalls. A fine addition for a pit or trackside scene. A choice of Mobil or Warsteiner liveries, there is also a whte kit and a limited edition twin-pack. There are quite a lot of overdue cars that we are waiting for - too many to make a whole list but if you look at these manufacturers you will get some idea : POLICAR and SRC and TEAM SLOT and NSR and SIDEWAYS. NEW CARS ANNOUNCED SRC have announced three new Chrono Limited Editions Porsche 914/6 cars. Not to be confused with previous cars that look similar, there are some upgrades from previous models, to quote SRC : "The works carried out on our steel molds has been very complicated and therefor the different options give the cars a different value". Each car is being produced in only 315 units worldwide, so I hope we will get enough in the UK.
