With all the championships wrapped up for the year there’s just time in December for two special events, a Team Race and the Christmas Race Night.
On Dec 15th, 8 teams of varying abilities booked in for the team event and handicaps were applied to try to level the field as much as possible. Each team ran a 5-minute segment on each of the 4 lanes at the end it was Team D&D (Dave & Dick Stevenson) very closely followed by Team MSMS (Mike Seary & Mike Speight) with Team No Idea (Nick Lake & Tony Mills) in 3rd.
Our final event was our Christmas Race on Dec 22nd. 20 drivers booked in and after the qualifying runs it was Dave Stevenson taking top spot on 95.09 laps followed by Mike Crofts and Mike Read with Mike just edging 3rd spot from Garry King by virtue of a better run on red lane.
The finals were largely uneventful with AJ taking the final move up to the A Final having set a new lap record on blue of 5.362.
The A final was won by Dave Stevenson from Mike Crofts with AJ in 3rd and Mike Read 4th. Over the course of the finals new lap records were set on every lane as follows Red- Mike Crofts 5.506, Yellow Tony Mills 5.514, Blue AJ 5.632, and White AJ 5.404.
A fitting end to a great year at Coulsdon, here’s to an even better 2023!!
