NUEVA ZELANDA - RESULTS AND IMAGES FROM TARABAKI SLOT CAR RACING CLUB

 

Race meeting at Mike's "Bowman Raceway", Sunday 16th July 2023.

Small entry but still fun (cost of fuel and farming duties to blame). This enabled no less than 10 class races so that was great. Mike was as usual fairly dominant but Charles showed the way with his Aussie V8 Supercheap Holden. Best it has gone for ages with front wheels now revolving freely. Laurie continued his consistent run with some great 2nd's while Paul when he arrived after visitors evened out the scores at the top end with 3 x 1sts and a 2nd. Charles - an interesting experiment in Group C running his old Mercedes Sauber with an 18000rpm. motor. Gave Laurie a real run for his money. See also new F1 car in that class.

Scaly GT - Mike (Chevrolet Corvette) 1, Laurie (Chevrolet Corvette) 2, Chas (BMW Z4) 3.

Aussie V8 - Charles (Supercheap Holden V8)1, Mike (Falcon V8) 2, Laurie (Davidson Falcon) 3.

Group C - Mike (Toyota 88C) 1, Laurie (Toyota 88C) 2 and Charles (18000rpm Mercedes Sauber) 3.

F1 - Mike (Modified NSR F1) 1, Laurie (Modified NSR F1) 2, and Charles (Brabham BT54 home built hybrid) 3 but improving fast.

US Muscle Car - Mike (Chevrolet Camaro) 1, Charles (Chevrolet Camaro) 2, Laurie (Chevrolet Camaro) 3.

Group 5 Saloon - Mike (Ford Capri Group 5) 1, Laurie (BMW M1) 2, Charles (Ford Capri) 3 and Paul (BMW M1 4 but arriving late.

Open GT - Mike (Mosler MT900 GT) 1, Paul (BMW M1 GT) 2, Laurie (BMW M1 GT) 3 and Charles (Chevrolet Corvette) 4.

NASCAR - Fun race with 2 cars from Charles and Laurie the same. Paul 1, Charles 2, Mike 3 and Laurie 4.

Formula 1 - Paul (NSR F1) 1, Mike (Modified NSR F1) 2, Charles (Hybrid F1 Brabham B54) 3 and Laurie (Modified NSR F1) 4.

US Muscle car - Paul (Chevrolet Corvette) 1, Mike (Chevrolet Corvette) 2, Charles (Chevrolet Corvette) 3 and Laurie (Chevrolet Corvette) 4.

Not too serious but good fun for all.

Next meeting at Peter's Green Acres Raceway, Toko, Stratford when we should be back to full strength plus Young Jack - Sunday 30th July 2023 - 9am to 12 noon.
