Dear friend,
this email to show our new release. We added at our collection of Indy 500 - Watson Roadster two new versions, the Simoniz Special 1959 with driver Jim Rathmann and the Bryant Special 1961 driven by Len Sutton.
During the past years we always received requests to add some new livery versions at our Watson production, so we decided to add these 2 new ones.
The models, as always, are handmade in resin with photo-etched details and photo-etched chassis and 20.00 rpm motor. For these models we decided to refresh the external boxes and make new bases, realized in wood, in asphalt color with the famous "brickyard" of Indianapolis arrival, like the photo alleged.
The Simoniz Special # 16, our first Watson Roadster of the'50 was driven by Jim Rathmann, he was 3rd on the starting grid and finished 2nd after a long battle with Rodger Ward. A little curiosity, in that year the Watson haven't the rear bumper.
The Bryant Special # 8 was driven by Len Sutton, he was 8th on the starting grid but in the race he had to retire due to a clutch problem. We are particullary fond to Len Sutton, he kindly signed one of our model ( Len Sutton's model 1962 of course) with dedication, so we remember him with pleasure. The real car of 1961 was recently restaured and auctioned by Sotheby's, reaching € 570,000.
The models are available now in RTR version and in the next weeks in Kit versions, pre-painted and unpainted. These 2 new Watsons will be in limited and numbered edition of 150 pieces each.
More info and photos on our website.
Many thanks and best regards
Daniele and Gianluca Ostorero
