GRAN BRETAÑA - NOVEDADES JUNIO EN MRE

MRE Slot News 11 June

We have new cars from MR SLOTCAR and SIDEWAYS and REVOSLOT this week.
Just one new car from MR SLOTCAR, the latest version of the McLaren F1GT. In blue, and with Jacadi sponsors, this one raced at Le Mans in 1985. Blends in nicely with the other liveries released on this car.
Just a single car also arrived from SIDEWAYS. This BMW 320i is the Sachs Sporting car that won the DRM race at Hockenheim in 1978.
REVOSLOT sent us four new cars which are all available separately, plus a Limited Edition twin-pack of two of the cars. The new versions of the Ferrari 333SP are slightly different from earlier releases. Look carefully, you will see different style bodywork, especially at the front where the headlights are most noticeable. Note that the pictures show the cars without rear wings, but don't worry because they are supplied separately to let the cars fit inside the box. A bit more detail information below.
 DUE TO ARRIVE
These cars expected from SCALEXTRIC haven't been delivered yet : Gulf Collection triple-pack (Aston Martin DBR9, McLaren F1GT, Ford GT40) and the SR Rasio C20 Joker and the BTCC Honda Civic # 600 Tordoff Auto Aid and the Sierra RS500 Listerine, and now we have a message from SCALEXTRIC that these new ones are also arriving : BTCC MG6 # 4 Tool Maniac< /A> and Dodge Charger Hotrod purple. Other cars that are overdue include the NSR Porsche 908/3 Tergal and the THUNDERSLOT McLaren M6 Sunoco and the TEAM SLOT Escort RS2000 Teboil Gold. It will be a good week if any of them turn up......
NEW CARS ANNOUNCED
FLY have announced a new Ferrari 250 GTO. This silver car raced at Le Mans in 1963, driven by Pierre Dumay. A bit more information about FLY Ferrari 250 GTO cars below.
NEWS ROUNDUP
MANUFACTURERS PICTURES - SLOT.IT. The first releases of the Maserati MC are due soon, in both GT3 and GT4 versions. We know the first one to arrive will be the Maserati MC GT3 Tridente Motors, and it will be followed by the Camozzi # 38 car shown here. The Maserati MC GT4 car has different bodywork, and the first car to be released will be this black & grey X-Analytics model.
NEW WHEELS FROM SSC. The very popular range of allow wheels from Staffs Slot Cars is expanding with a new style coming soon. These 4-spoke hubs will be available in six anodised colours. The new shade of grey will also be available on earlier hubs, making them attractive for even more cars. Full catalogue listing coming soon.
FLY FERRARI 250 GTO. Not for the first time, FLY have either changed their mind or forgotten that part number F-A2019 had already been allocated to another car. The Ferrari 250 GTO LM63 car announced above has taken the number of the Ferrari 250 GTO Paris 1000K 1962 where it was driven by the Rodriguez brothers. Don't worry, we have retained all your orders for the red Paris car, which you can see and order below. Hopefully FLY will issue a new number for it soon.
USA POSTAGE TRUMPED. Very bad news for our USA customers, and anyone in America buying from anywhere outside the USA. We received the notice below from Royal Mail that explains that US Post have increased their charges by over 100% for incoming international parcels. For 1 July we will have to introduce a new price scale for orders going to the USA - we don't want to do it, but have no choice. If you were planning to make an order, the time to do it is now. You can read how the increase has been reported in the USA HERE - The Donald has seemingly blackmailed the US Post Service to increase their charges or lose a government bailout. Our sympathies are with all American citizens who buy products from overseas.
MANUFACTURERS PICTURE - POLICAR. The next release of the Lotus 72 is almost ready, and is looking good in the dark blue Embassy livery. We are just waiting for a shipping date.
SRC HEAD FOR LMP1. The surprise announcement this week comes from Spanish company SRC who have shown fairly advanced development of a new Toyota LMP1 car. When released, this will be the first commercially available model of a current LMP1 endurance racer, although we are aware of some cars or bodyshells available from 3D Printing specialists. There is no predicted availability date, and we must say that the SRC record isn't the best for keeping deadlines. More information when SRC can give out more details.
FERRARI 333SP MODELS. The new REVOSLOT cars just released have left us somewhat thoughful. There is probably a very good reason, but REVOSLOT aren't saying what. The two plain red cars have a more detailed identity in real life, so we hope that customers will be able to upgrade them with help from the decal specialists. Here are pictures of the real cars with a bit more decoration detail.

MRE OPEN FOR MAIL ORDER BUSINESS. We are receiving deliveries of new cars and spares, and just like it says above, we are open for orders and are posting them out to you as fast as we can.

We can accept orders at any time, but due to the business centre where the MRE HQ is located being in lockdown, we have only limited access. We are unable to answer the phone so please contact us by email at mre@mre.co.uk  We are doing our best to work as reliably as possible while keeping within the "stay at home" guidelines, we hope you understand we are a ll under pressure at this time. To all of you - please be sensible and stay well.

THE LAST WORD
A picture online caught my eye. It is a caricature (but a pretty good one) of an Escort RS2000 X-Pack in Rothmans livery. It is actually a real car, and the picture was commissioned by the owner. So why did it grab my attention ?
TEAM SLOT are releasing the Escort RS2000 X-Pack Martini. They are also releasing the Escort MK2 Zakspeed Rothmans. Melding the two cars together would easily create this car, which I am sure would be popular. I haven't been able to find out yet if they are ahead of the game, but they will be releasing the RS2000 X-Pack as a yellow street car.
So, a questions for you this week : What car would you like to see released in what livery ? The possibilities are endless, and some companies already take advantage of popular colours on mythical cars. Just take a look at models from NSR and SIDEWAYS and you'll know what I mean.
Don't go too crazy (A Jagermeister Vanwall would look stupid for example) but how about a purple Silk Cut Zakspeed Capri ? Send your fantasies (just the cars please) to us with a picture if possible. It could influence a manufacturer - or it could just give us a smile during lockdown.
Stay home and stay safe
