AUSTRALIA - BIANTE MODEL CARS PRESENTA NUEVOS MODELOS DICIEMBRE 2019

New Announcements

Today we have what might be the final announcements of the year from Spark and Bizarre.

Highlights of the Spark models announced in 1:18 are two amazing Le Mans-winning Porsche 917Ks, Jack Brabham's winning BT19 from the 1966 French GP, Graham Hill's winning BRM P57 from 1962 Dutch GP, a couple of classic BMW 3.0 CSLs driven to victory by the late, great Niki Lauda and the stunning 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster.

Over at Bizarre they have two new land speed record cars in 1:43 scale, including Donald Campbell's Bluebird CN7 that was shipped to South Australia's Lake Eyre for an attempt at the record in 1963.

All of these models are now available to pre-order at your local Biante stockist or online from the Apex Replicas website. Click on the red banner at the bottom of the page or any of the images to visit the website.

B1067 - Mickl Record Car
1937
A futuristic six-wheeled record car, with a number of interesting aerodynamic features ahead of their time,  like the inverted rear wing, designed to produce downforce. The design was patented by Joseph Mickl, head of R& D at Porsche, when they were still a model development and consulting firm and followed on from Mercedes' W125 Rekordwagen.

B1075 - Bluebird CN7
Donald Campbell
Lake Eyre, South Australia, 1963

After crashing at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah in September 1960, Campbell's Bluebird was rebuilt with differential locks (it was four wheel drive) and a central stabiliser fin and shipped to Australia for a new record attempt in 1963. 500 mph was the plan and Lake Eyre was chosen for its wide open expanses and rock hard surface after not seeing rain for twenty years. However, only low speed runs were eventually possible due to the area finally seeing rainfall to the degree that the lake flooded and Campbell's plans were aborted until the following year.
