Modelant M-04 Ferrari 410S 1956 1000 Km Buenos Aires, drivers Fangio & Castellotti

The Modelant 1/32 scale 410S is ready-to-race. The model is cast resin and etched metal, hand assembled in Spain.

The production is limited and numbered to 150 units. The model is presented in an elegant wooden box with a resin diorama as a display stand.

The 410 Sport Scaglietti was the most famous Ferrari in America. The first two cars raced at Buenos Aires in 1956. The prototype for this Fangio/Castellotti 410S was sold to America to be driven (with different racing numbers) by Phil Hill, Richie Ginther, Jo Bonnier, Masten Gregory, Bruce Kessler and Carroll Shelby, who called it the largest and fastest Ferrari built to date. The Ferrari 410S was fitted with a 5 liter 380 hp V12 engine.

On January 29, 1956 Juan Manuel Fangio and Eugenio Castellotti drove the number 43 Ferrari 410S in the 1000 kms of Buenos Aires, the second of two Ferrari 410S factory-sponsored cars. The Fangio/Castellotti car retired at lap 89 of the 106 lap race---Castellotti dodged a dog that crossed the semi-urban circuit—repairs cost them an hour and a half, but it was transmisison failure that put them out of the race.
