The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1960s.
First announced in 1961, it featured monocoque construction with then-novel practice of a front subframe carrying the engine, front suspension and bodywork bolted directly to the main shell. Apart from the very high specification of rack and pinion steering, independent coil spring rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes, it was also priced way cheaper than any rival to offer similar performance, all clothed in a stunning, steel body.
Kyosho have just announced three new versions of the Series 1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupé in their diecast range. These stunning, highly-detailed models come with full opening features and poseable front wheels. The early model interior with its wood-rimmed steering wheel, aluminium-trimmed console and toggle switches is faithfully replicated, while under the bonnet, the legendary XK engine is on show with its triple SU carburettors.
The three versions of the 1962 Jaguar E-Type S1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupé are priced at $295, with the individual models listed below:
K08954R - Carmen Red
K08954SBL - Opalescent Silver Blue
K08954W - White
