AUTOBARN LOWNDES RACING
#888 CRAIG LOWNDES
2018 TYREPOWER TASMANIA SUPERSPRINT RACE 8 WINNER
LIMITED EDITION OF 310 PIECES

After a drought of nearly two years, Craig Lowndes returned to the Supercars podium to claim his 106th career win in the second leg of the 2018 Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint.
Taking his first pole since August 2015, Lowndes proved he was back at his best, leading the field for most of the 84-lap Race 8 down at Symmons Plains.

Lowndes held off early challenger Shane van Gisbergen to pull away with a lead of nearly two seconds when he pitted at the end of lap 14. Lowndes continued to build his lead before making his first stop at the end of lap 22 when 2.6 seconds ahead of Jamie Whincup. He rejoined behind Scott McLaughlin, whose shorter fill had placed him ahead of van Gisbergen but on lap 29, Lowndes slipped down the inside of McLaughlin at Turn 4, reclaiming top spot.
McLaughlin was first to pit in the second round of stops, nearly two seconds behind Lowndes. This resulted in Lowndes being nearly five seconds ahead of Whincup when they pitted together two laps later. Lowndes had just enough time to stay ahead of Whincup as they headed back to the track, with McLaughlin slotting in between them as they started to move through the slower traffic early in the final stint.
Lowndes once again crept away, while Whincup edged closer to McLaughlin, but these positions were held as Lowndes went on to take his first win since the second race at Queensland Raceway back in July 2016.
Limited numbers of these items will be available to purchase online at biante.com.au from 12:00 noon (WST) tomorrow, October 9th

MAZDA RX-7
#43 ALLAN MOFFAT / YOSHIMI KATAYAMA
1982 JAMES HARDIE BATHURST 1000
LIMITED EDITION OF 462 PIECES - COA SIGNED BY ALLAN MOFFAT
Allan Moffat’s long campaign to get the Mazda RX-7 approved for Australian touring car racing finally began to bear fruit in 1982.

After a quiet debut in late 1981 that netted he and Derek Bell a podium finish in the Bathurst 1000, Moffat embarked on his first full-season campaign with the rotary-powered rocket in ‘82.

A podium in the opening race at Sandown after a race-long battle with Kevin Bartlett’s Chevrolet Camaro showed what was to come, with Moffat taking the Mazda’s maiden win at Lakeside before rounding out the championship with another victory in the season finale at Surfers Paradise.

The Canadian-born racer stirred up more controversy at the Castrol 400, earning two pit lane speeding penalties which led to being black-flagged and not acknowledged as the winner. Moffat played to the crowd’s jeers by parking in front of Sandown’s grandstand and bowing to the spectators. A subsequent appeal re-instated him as the race winner, but the ill-feeling lingered ahead of Bathurst.

While Moffat and co-driver Yoshimi Katayama were touted as potential winners, the long haul up Mount Panorama cancelled out the lightweight car’s better handling, tyre and fuel consumption against the dominant V8s.
Moffat made the Hardie’s Heroes shootout with a stunning time that was good enough for third in qualifying, just a second shy of Allan Grice’s provisional pole time. However he could only muster the eighth-fastest time in the Top 10 Shootout for a spot on the fourth row of the race grid. More...
Produced in die-cast with fully opening parts, high details and immaculate finishing, this model will be a limited edition and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by Allan Moffat.
